What is Ringside?
Ringside for K.O. II is a companion app for the Teenage Engineering EP-133 K.O. II. Plug the device into your phone, iPad or Mac and Ringside shows what the K.O. II's tiny screen hides — real pad names and settings, master FX, tempo and clock, plain-English guides and backups — then lets you safely change them. Ringside is a companion app and requires the K.O. II hardware; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Teenage Engineering.
How do I connect the K.O. II?
On iPhone / iPad with USB-C or Android: use a USB-C to USB-C cable straight from the device to your phone or tablet. On an older iPhone / iPad with a Lightning port: use the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, then a USB cable to the K.O. II. Open Ringside and it finds the device and connects on its own; it reconnects if you unplug and plug back in.
It isn't connecting — what should I check?
Make sure the K.O. II is powered on, the cable is a full data cable (not charge-only), and nothing else is holding the USB MIDI connection. For the tightest tempo sync, set the device's clock setting as shown in the app's Guides.
What's free and what's Pro?
Free is the whole "see everything" companion — the full Decoder, Play pads and keyboard, tempo and clock master, all the system guides and icons, audition, and manual on-device backups. Ringside Pro is a one-time $7.99 purchase (no subscription) that unlocks sending changes to the device: pad edits, project and fader changes, saving master FX, restoring a backup to the device, and two-step undo.
How do I restore my purchase?
If you reinstall or switch devices, open the paywall and tap Restore Purchase. Your Ringside Pro unlock is tied to your App Store or Google Play account and restores for free.
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything happens on your device — there are no accounts, no analytics and no backend. The network is only ever used for the one-time store purchase. See our privacy policy.
